The South Central Service Cooperative health insurance pool programs and services are member owned and managed. Participants in our pools manage their own health insurance plans for the benefit of their participating members.
SCSC collaborates with seven other service cooperatives in an organization called the Minnesota Health Care Consortium (MHC) which is dedicated to providing state-wide economies of scale when negotiating the purchase of health insurance services. Periodically, SCSC and MHC conduct best-in-class services review of different insurance company programs and select the programs that best meet the needs of the pool membership. SCSC and the MHC currently manages health insurance pool programs for more than 325 public sector employers throughout Minnesota. The current membership totals more than 45,000 people.
