Cooperative Purchasing
Cooperative purchasing streamlines the bidding process and uses economies of scale to save local governments and school districts money on their purchases. Cooperative purchasing programs are available through the Cooperative Purchasing Connection (CPC) and Sourcewell. We can assist your organization in becoming familiar with this program, allowing you to save time and money by purchasing from ready-to-use competitively solicited contracts.
Fire Service Agreements
- Provide research concerning the latest trends in fire service delivery
- Facilitate discussions between cities and townships
- Complete cost analysis of service delivery
- Provide examples of fire service contracts and/ or joint powers agreements
- Assist with equipment ownership and purchasing
Insurance and Wellness
Minnesota Healthcare Consortium's insurance pooling makes specially-negotiated rates available to public employers who join the cooperative network. Wellness programs designed to improve wellbeing and control health care costs are also available. Funding helps local sites carry out wellness activities for their employees.
Internships
SCSC offers grants up to 400 hours for cities or counties who want to employ an intern working in general government disciplines. Internships are a great way to help with special projects and provide valuable work experience to a young professional. Funding is on a first come, first serve basis. SCSC will provide $12.00 per hour up to 400 hours. Please send a letter of request to Wendell Sande or Mike Humpal.
