City of Lewiston Welcomes New City Administrator Ragini Varma

The City of Lewiston is pleased to announce Ragini Varma's appointment as its new City Administrator, effective January 13, 2025. Varma was selected following a rigorous hiring process facilitated by Mike Humpal, Manager of Local Government Solutions at the South Central Service Cooperative. She stood out among six applicants for her extensive experience, strong leadership, and alignment with the city’s goals and values.

Varma brings over 24 years of experience in public and private sectors, with roles in Information Technology supporting private industries and local government operations. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems, an MBA in E-Business, and a Certified Municipal Clerk in Minnesota. Most recently, Varma served as City Clerk, Human Resources Director, and IT Director for the City of North Branch, Minnesota, where she spent eight years leading human resources, and IT initiatives.

Known for her collaborative leadership style and commitment to fostering strong relationships with community leaders, city officials, and residents, Varma is expected to be a key asset to Lewiston's growth and development.
