County Engineer, Steele County Minnesota

Steele County, located in Southeastern Minnesota, is seeking a County Engineer.

The County Engineer is responsible for providing the vision, strategic planning, and direction in overseeing the overall operations, plans, projects, and staff of the department. The County Engineer plans, designs, directs and/or coordinates capital improvements to the County’s road and bridge infrastructure, parking lots, fairgrounds, and landfill in accordance with engineering principles and in compliance with state, federal and other agency standards, guidelines, rules, and safety requirements.

Steele County is located 45 miles south of the Twin Cities on Interstate 35W. Highway 14 provides access to Rochester (40 miles to the east) and Mankato (45 miles west). Steele County has four incorporated cities. The county seat is the City of Owatonna. There are three additional cities that are incorporated: Blooming Prairie, Ellendale, and Medford. Along with the cities, there are thirteen townships that make up the rural areas of Steele County.
