Digital Accessibility Community of Practice

South Central Service Cooperative is inviting members to participate in the Digital Accessibility Community of Practice focused on ensuring that digital content is compliant based on the WCAG2.0AA standards and is truly safe and accessible to all of our stakeholders. This community is for school and governmental agency leaders (policy and decision makers) and for staff who are responsible for administering your web sites and key digital content that you make public.

South Central Service Cooperative will host the first Digital Accessibility Community of Practice event for the 2018-19  school year on Aug. 8 starting at 9 a.m. at the SCSC Conference Center in North Mankato. This event is open to all SCSC member school and government entities and any of our partners. You are welcome to attend this event in person or to join through our video conferencing system. There is no cost to attend.

The working agenda for the Aug. 8 meeting includes an introduction to some online coursework for organizations that produce and publish digital content for students or the public, as well as a plan for helping members maintain a safe accessible digital (web) presence as per the new standards and laws that went into effect in January 2018.
