Minnesota Valley Action Council Young Adult Programs

Efforts are aimed at providing services to young adults that need assistance to complete an educational program or to secure or hold employment. 
Do you know someone between the ages of 16–24 with any of these life situations?

  • Want to work toward GED, certification (such as CNA), or two–year degree
  • Someone who has been or are in an out–of–home placement
  • Foster care, group home, treatment center, incarcerated
  • People–of–color
  • Diagnosed & documented disability
  • Receives public assistance
  • Pregnant or Parenting
  • Struggle with math or reading
  • Meets income guidelines

Counties served: Blue Earth, Brown, Faribault, Le Sueur, Martin, Nicollet, Sibley, Waseca, Watonwan
How may MVAC be able to assist those we serve?

  • College scholarship opportunities
  • Assistance getting enrolled in/completing an educational goal
  • Career path planning
  • Referrals to other area services for them and their family
  • Paid work experience/internship to learn skills needed to succeed in the current job market
  • Connections to apprenticeships
  • Possible funding for transportation, educational or employment needs
