SCSC & ICS Partner to Host Inaugural CCOGA Meeting

South Central Service Cooperative and ICS Consulting, Inc. co-hosted the inaugural CCOGA meeting for members at the SCSC Conference Center July 31. Several presenters and vendors gathered to share timely updates and information.

ICS Consulting, Inc. co-host CCOGA meetingWendell Sande, SCSC CCOGA Advisory Services, presented an update on statewide cooperative initiatives intended to identify new services for members. The first service rolled out July 1 was Financial Services and Technical Assistance. Teri Osterman, hired as the preferred city clerk trainer for the Minnesota Service Cooperatives, is available on a fee basis to all member cities for trainings at your city. Additional services will be announced as they are rolled out, with at least two more expected in the next year.

Hannah Keltgen, SCSC Wellness Specialist/CCOGA Advisory Services, reviewed the SCSC wellness program and resources available to members. She will assist members on building a customized wellness experience on-site that increases employee engagement and making the healthy choice, the easy choice for their staff.  Mark October 24 on your calendar for the SCSC Wellness Conference.

Ryan Erdmann, member engagement coordinator from the Association of Minnesota Counties, summarized the recent legislative session including bills that passed and many that did not. It was a very informative presentation.

Michael Piper, principal from ICS Consulting, Inc., presented on capital improvement plans and long-term facility management planning, services available to cooperative members statewide under a contract between ICS and the Minnesota Service Cooperatives.

Karen Olson, regional manager of cooperative member services for ICS Consulting, Inc. reviewed several other consulting, engineering and technical services available to members using a custom-tailored collaborative approach.

Jerome Evans, Cooperative Purchasing Connection representative, presented on a wide variety of products and services available as joint-purchasing options to cooperative members. CPC utilizes a free competitive process which meets all state procurement requirements, and conveniently provides members with discounts, quality service and transparency.  

Gary Feichtinger, Innovative Office Solutions, described their wide range of products and services.

Chris Daniels, USA Securities, Inc. and Andrew Polehna, Avigilon engaged the audience with an interactive presentation on the newest security technology.

SCSC and ICS were pleased to employ a local business, Prairie Pride BBQ, for the event luncheon.

Erdmann felt this first event was successful, adding “SCSC and all the regional service cooperatives have been great partners for the Association of Minnesota Counties.  I was glad to be able to participate and bring an additional local government perspective to the event.”

SCSC is planning future member events to highlight products and services intended to provide cost efficiency to our members.
