Celebrate your school’s effective character-building practice!

Apply today to receive recognition for a Minnesota Promising Practice!

Each year, Synergy & Leadership Exchange recognizes Minnesota schools and organizations that have implemented a unique, specific, and effective character-building practice that exemplifies one or more of the 11 Principles of Effective Character Education. Practices that are selected will be listed on the Synergy website and celebrated at the Character Recognition Awards on May 20, 2020.

Promising Practices highlight ways for students to learn empathy, conflict resolution skills, positive relationship building, good citizenship, and other character strengths and skills. Practices may cover many different areas and activities, such as innovative service-learning projects, academic practices, bullying prevention strategies, character assemblies, mentoring programs and many others.

Before applying, consider whether the practice is innovative, noteworthy, or significant for the building positive character in the school, district, team, or organization (not just replicated “as is” from another model) and if it is proactive for developing good character.

Applications are due Feb. 14, 2020. Visit the Synergy website to apply, view evaluation criteria or past honorees.
