Director of Teaching and Learning

POSITION SUMMARY: The Director of Teaching and Learning provides leadership, coordination, and facilitation of programs and services, in the development and partnership with MDE for the implementation of K-12 Academic Standards and support to meet needs of SCSC members. The Director of Teaching and Learning plans and coordinates with members of the SCSC Teaching and Learning team to provide region-level professional development opportunities to ensure the implementation and evaluation of instructional programs; provides partnership and leadership through coaching and mentorship; develops, directs, evaluates, and administers procedures, programs, budgets, staffing, communications, and professional development; and advises the Executive Director on matters regarding the teaching and learning needs of SCSC members.  

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Master’s degree in elementary or secondary education, or curriculum
• Minimum ten years of experience in the field of education
• Experience in leadership
• Experience with program development and management
• Valid MN Driver’s License 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Current Minnesota teaching license
• Two years of experience in leading or supervising teams
• Expertise and/or experience in group facilitation and adult learning
• Experience with evidence-based/structured literacy practices

SALARY range $88,000-$118,000, commensurate with experience.
