SCSC Supports the Gathering of Champions

Synergy and Leadership Exchange extends a big thank you to South Central Service Cooperative for supporting student academic achievement! Six SCSC representatives joined 32 other participants from the Minnesota Service Cooperatives at a charity golf tournament hosted by Synergy & Leadership Exchange on July 10 prior to the MSC annual conference. The tournament was held at Lester Park Golf Course in Duluth.

With additional support from sponsors including SCSC, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota, National Insurance Services, Steve Wall and Wanda Sommers Wall, Columbia Threadneedle Investments, Fidelity Investments, Franklin Templeton, Ameriprise Financial and Janus Hendersen, more than $3,400 was raised to support the Gathering of Champions! The GOC is an annual event celebrating student academics. In its 28th year this event has recognized more than 50,000 All-Star students and their families.

The Gathering of Champions is funded entirely by donations and sponsors; families and students attend at no cost! Synergy appreciates the support from SCSC and the other members of The Minnesota Service Cooperatives who have partnered with Synergy for nearly 30 years by encouraging schools in their regions to nominate students and by serving as volunteers at the event.

Schools in the SCSC region are encouraged to nominate their students as Academic All-Stars with the recommended selection criteria including:

• students who are consistent top academic performers;
• students who have shown significant improvement in achievement or have overcome barriers to academic achievement; and/or
• students who are local, regional or state champions in a Minnesota Academic League Council approved event.

Nominations open in March; visit www.synergyexchange.org for more information.
