Cybercrimes Insight & Intro to Digital Evidence Identification
This is a 1-day course, a non-technical course designed to introduce law enforcement officers, crime scene technicians, coroners, or other first responders with limited or no prior knowledge of computer crime and cyber investigations to the importance of identifying digital evidence related to suspected criminal activity. This is an awareness-level course that will help students reduce cybersecurity risks and response impacts to critical infrastructure. Students will be introduced to the fundamentals of computer networks and Internet technologies. Additionally, students will learn how to identify hardware, software, and other digital devices that often contain evidence used in criminal investigations.
Prerequisite: No prerequisite other than being available to law enforcement officers, crime scene technicians, coroners, or other first responders.
Registration will open in late April or early May 2025.
