SOCRATES provides a variety of technical services and partner agreements to meet member information technology needs. By focusing on affordable solutions and support, SOCRATES helps member organizations efficiently meet their goals.

In addition to providing technical services, SOCRATES Technical Services administers the SOCRATES network.  This collaboration of 20 school districts, four cooperative districts and 31 public libraries offers a high-speed dedicated network supports and teaching and learning initiatives throughout the region.

Achieve3000 is a patented online methodology for differentiated instruction that provides engaging, nonfiction content that supports core curriculum, Response to Intervention, English language learning, special education, adult learning, workforce readiness and other instructional models.

The Center for Interactive Learning and Collaboration (CILC), established in 1994, is a not-for-profit specializing in access to applications and the utilization of videoconferencing for live interactive content and professional development, as well as web-based collaborative learning environments for K-20. CILC provides consulting expertise in video-conferencing, integration, problem based learning projects, school community partnerships and effective techniques for the delivery and development of quality programs.

Clarity is an online platform that helps districts improve student learning through research and analysis. With Clarity, districts and schools receive the kind of analysis and advice offered by consultants, but for a fraction of the cost. Clarity’s CASE module uses this analysis to drive the impact of technology on student learning. CASE enables districts to better allocate technology resources, and to respond quickly to the diverse needs of students and teachers.

SOCRATES provides email filtering to member districts using Red Condor by Edgewave. Red Condor provides proactive email monitoring with continuously updated email protection.

Learn360 is an interactive media-on-demand service, providing teachers and students the power to meet and exceed 21st century educational expectations across all curriculums. Through streaming video, audio and accompanying support materials, Learn360 supports web-based learning by providing an online collaborative environment where users can share information and ideas 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Powerful learning management systems help students and educators interact with each other and the content. The Moodle LMS is hosted for schools so that they can focus on instructional design without having to maintain additional equipment. Hosting includes user group and professional development support. SOCRATES partners with cmERDC to provide schools Moodle LMS hosting. The average cost to get a Moodle instance started for a new school is $1,000, including installation and one year of hosting. The annual cost for hosting and upgrades for the typical district is about $810. 

SOCRATES partners with rSchoolToday to provide districts access to an affordable content management and web hosting platform.  

SOCRATES partners with AVG CloudCare Antivirus to provide cloud-based virus protection for member computers. Typical costs have been well under $1 per month per device depending on our overall volume.
