Students Calculate Mathematical Success at Area Math Masters Event!
One-hundred and eighty 5th grade students from 22 schools competed May 4 at the regional Math Masters event held at Bethany Lutheran College in Mankato. Students competed as teams and as individuals in the competition that featured a Fact Drill Exam, four individual rounds, and three rounds of mathematical concepts. Participating districts/schools included: Jordan, St. James, Blue Earth, Buffalo Lake Hector, Norwood Young America, Waseca, Sibley East, Lake Crystal Wellcome Memorial, Montgomery-Lonsdale, Le Sueur-Henderson, Sleepy Eye, St. Clair, Olivia, St. Peter, and Mankato Area Schools: Bridges, Eagle Lake, Monroe, Hoover, and Kennedy.
All exams were written and the following students/schools were recognized for outstanding performance.

Monroe Team # 1 also placed in the top 10 teams of the tournament finishing in 7th place. Team members include Allie Knickrehm, Austin Koble , Dylan Neils, Phoenix Shepherd, and Emily Smith
