SCSC's Developmental Cognitive Delayed (DCD) Community of Practice, run in collaboration with Regions 6,8 and 10, is a group of professionals, educators and others who come together to share knowledge, expertise, and best practices related to individuals with developmental cognitive delays.
The purpose of such a community can vary, but our primary goal with our CoP is to provide learning opportunities for teachers and staff and provide a place where teachers can problem solve situations to enhance practices for their students.
In essence, a Developmental Cognitive Delayed Community of Practice is a platform for multidisciplinary professionals and stakeholders to come together to improve the quality of care, support, and outcomes for individuals with developmental cognitive delays by sharing knowledge, collaborating on initiatives, and advocating for their needs.
