Work-Skills Competition Day—Students “Gear Up” for the May 18th Date!

The 3rd annual South Central Minnesota Work-Skills Competition Day “Gearing Up for Your Future” will be held Thursday, May 18, 2006 from 8:00 a.m–1:45 p.m. The event will take place at South Central College in North Mankato, MN.

This competition presents an opportunity for students with disabilities, grades 10–12, to showcase their job seeking and job keeping skills in these categories: Application Writing, Interviewing, Problem Solving, and General Knowledge. The day will also include awards, door prizes, entertainment, lunch and snacks.

During last year’s great success, high school students from Blue Earth Area, JWP, St. Peter, St. Clair, River Bend Day Treatment, Cleveland, Fairmont, Sibley East, and Sleepy Eye competed in all four categories. The 2006 event looks to continue the outstanding level of competition many area schools bring to this day!

Limited seats are available. To reserve a spot for students at this year’s event, please complete the Intent to Participate form online at www.mnscsc.org–click on EVENTS. Register for the May 18th event as a GROUP by Friday, February 24, 2006 to list the number of your intended participants.

If you have questions, please call Rebekah Snyder at 507-387-5671 x 291 or Linda Watson at 507-389-2123. See you on May 18th!
