“ArtCetera!” Now on KTOE–1420 AM on Your Radio
Enter the “World of the Arts”—Hosted by Marti Ryan

“ArtCetera!” a new weekly radio show on KTOE 1420 AM radio, aired for the first time August 18, 2005 as the result of a grant to South Central Service Cooperative from the Prairie Lakes Regional Arts Council, through funds appropriated by the Minnesota State Legislature. Marti Ryan hosts “ArtCetera!” on Wednesday mornings from 10:10 – 10:25 where she interviews local artists in music, visual arts, literature, creative writing, poetry, dance, theatre and education, to increase public awareness and support of the arts and add value to the people, organizations and events that take place in our communities.

In addition to interviewing guests on “ArtCetera!” Marti has also gone out into the community to interview youth attending local art events, such as the Fine Arts Conference sponsored by South Central Service Cooperative at Bethany Lutheran College, where she solicited student opinions of hands-on cultural experiences, validating the importance of these events to educational and social development.

Some of Marti’s guests on “ArtCetera” have included: Peter McGuire, violinist with the Minnesota Orchestra; John Rezmerski, poet; Nicole Helget, author of “Summer of Ordinary Ways”; Annmarie Drake, Mankato Ballet; Lisa Litke, SCSC Fine Arts Conference; Joyce Swenson, SCSC Young Writer’s Workshop; Shannon Robinson, Twin Rivers Center for the Arts; Martha Morrow & Noah Bjork, St. Peter Area Children’s Theatre; Joe Tougas, Static Magazine; John McKay, solo pianist with the Mankato Symphony Orchestra; Tom Miller, sculptor; and Brenda Flintrop, Executive Director, Prairie lakes Regional Arts Council.
