Center for Academic Excellence Gathering of ChampionsNominate Your Outstanding Students for 2006 The Center for Academic Excellence invites you to recognize your school’s top-performing students in the 2006 honor roll of Academic All-Stars in Minnesota! Each year, the Center for Academic Excellence teams up with schools to celebrate academic excellence and to honor Minnesota’s outstanding K12 students as Academic All-Stars. School teachers or administrators are invited to select their top students (up to the top 5% of their student body), from one or more of three categories: consistent top academic performers (according to the school’s own criteria of excellence), students who have shown significant improvement in achievement or have overcome barriers to academic achievement, and students who are local, regional, or state champions in an Academic League. Program providers whose activities have been endorsed by Minnesota’s Academic League Council also are eligible to name their event champions as Academic All-Stars. The Academic All-Stars, along with their families, guests, and school officials, are invited to attend and participate in the Gathering of Champions. This special day of fun and recognition will be held on August 4, 2006 at the newly renamed “The Park at MOA” (formerly known as Knott’s Camp Snoopy). As in years past this will be a day to celebrate academic achievement with the same great recognition ceremonies and entertainment opportunities. Nomination invitations will be sent to schools this spring. Please visit our website: www.mncae.org for details on the Gathering of Champions program and nomination information for 2006. > Next CAE Article: Minnesota Academic All-Star Logo ContestVote for Your Favorite Design! |
