Walden University Partnership Provides Online Degree Programs

South Central Service Cooperative (SCSC) and Walden University have recently formed a new alliance to give members and other professional educators from southern Minnesota the opportunity to enroll in higher education programs at The Richard W. Riley College of Education and Leadership at Walden University, an accredited online institution. Through this partnership, Walden is offering members of SCSC an exclusive 5% tuition reduction when they enroll in one of their online degree programs, including Ph.D. in Education, Doctor of Education (Ed.D.), M.S. in Education, Minnesota-state approved Post-Baccalaureate Teacher Preparation Programs or BS in Child Development programs. Walden University will present a special informational session on March 26 at 4 p.m. in the SCSC Conference Center, North Mankato. Please register online to attend.

“Walden University has a rich professional education legacy, and we are committed to helping ensure the learning, achievement and success of students in Minnesota by preparing outstanding educators. We are proud partners with SCSC on this initiative to address the growing professional development needs of educators, administrators and staff in the state,” said Victoria Reid, vice president of the Riley College of Education and Leadership at Walden University.

According to a survey done by U.S. News & World Report, Walden University is currently the leading online university for educational graduate level coursework.

Walden’s coursework emphasizes practical application and features expert presenters like Robert Marzano, Dorothy Strickland and Richard DuFour. Walden has been advancing the skills of educators for 38 years and their degree programs support the needs of educators at all levels, from preschool through higher education and at various stages of their profession, including new and veteran classroom teachers, experienced faculty and administrators, and career changers interested in pursuing teaching through teacher preparation programs in two of the most vital areas of teacher shortage: Early Childhood Education (Birth–Grade 3) and Special Education (K–12) in the areas of learning disabilities or emotional/behavioral disorders.

Register to attend the special information session in March and visit Professional Development/Educational Opportunities for more information on leadership at Walden University and the Riley College of Education and their programs.
