Energize School Wellness

South Central Service Cooperative school wellness coordinators were invited to attend the Physical Activity and Nutrition Forum “Energize School Wellness” on February 19 at the University of Minnesota. The forum was sponsored by Hennepin County Human Services and Public Health Department.

This conference provided information and resources about wellness advisory committees, promoting physical activity in and out of the classroom, and evaluating implementation of wellness policies. Many new trends were discussed in terms of the importance of physical activity for students in helping increase learning and over all higher test scores.

During the spring wellness meeting in April, information learned at the forum will be shared and discussed for those school wellness coordinators who could not attend.
