Custodial Maintenance Grounds Appreciation Day Set for June 19: Mark Your Calendars Now!

Each summer South Central Service Cooperative in conjunction with Minnesota Association of School Maintenance Supervisors (MASMS) and District 77 Schools host a Custodial Maintenance Grounds Appreciation Day. This day is set aside to “Recognize and Appreciate the People who Make our Schools Look Good!” We keep the cost low ($15 per person) to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to attend.

This year the Appreciation Day will be held June 19 at Mankato East High School. The day will begin with stand-up comedian, Roger Radley, and continue with educational breakout sessions that address custodial, maintenance and grounds issues. Breakout session topics will be chosen by the MASMS members at our March meeting. Some of the topics covered in the past were:

• Restroom/Shower Cleaning
• Violence/Crisis Plans
• Boiler Care
• Turf Management
• Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA)
• Fire Marshall
• Fire Extinguisher Training, and
• Time-Saving Cleaning Tips.
