SCSC CHESS TOURNAMENT

Check—Checkmate! Time to Make Your Move

Attention student chess enthusiasts! South Central Service Cooperative has two great opportunities for you to sharpen your chess skills.

The SCSC Spring Regional Chess Tournament will take place March 8 at the St. Peter Community Center. Competitors in grades K–12 from south central and southern Minnesota are invited to enjoy a day of practice and competition, followed by an awards ceremony. First, second, and third place winners in each category will be honored with trophies and medals. Register now at: www.mnscsc.org.

On June 20–21 you will have another opportunity to compete! Mark you calendars now for the first SCSC State Chess Tournament. This new State Chess Tournament is listed on all Minnesota Chess websites and students from across the state are invited to participate in June. This tournament will include rated and non-rated play. USCF Certified tournament directors have volunteered to assist in this event.

South Central Service Cooperative in partnership with the Minnesota Chess Association, Minnesota School Chess, and Minnesota Service Cooperative members will host this state tournament at the St. Peter Community Center in June — more details will be available soon.
