Got Fun?

The Region 9 Teachers of the Blind/Visually Impaired plan fun field trips several times each year for students of all ages with visual impairments. Some of these activities have included: bowling, swimming, scavenger hunts, go carts, cooking, and Jack McGowan’s farm.

A child with a visual impairment may rarely have the opportunity to meet another child with a visual impairment. These field trips not only give them the chance to meet others but also to develop skills needed as they grow and mature.

Catherine Courtney, Kristi Portugue, and Cathy Rieber are the Region 9 Teachers of the Blind/Visually Impaired.

Let’s Make Breakfast
Some students with visual impairments and their teachers will be making breakfast foods (pancakes, sausage, and eggs) in March at the North Mankato Police Annex. The students will need to bring the cooking skills they have learned along with a healthy appetite. Bon appetit!
