MINNESOTA STUDENT INVENTORS CONGRESS SCSC to Host Regional Student Inventors Congress in April Area youth inventors from around the region will gather on Saturday, April 28 at the Madison East Mall in Mankato to showcase their invention projects. Minnesota Student Inventors Congress (MSIC) is a creative, problem solving event where youth identify problems in everyday life and create products to address those needs. Regional participants have already earned recognition at local Inventors Fairs in their community and were selected to represent their city and school at the Mankato regional event. Regional MSIC will feature judging by a panel of community volunteers who have a passion for youth and personal interest in inventing. At the conclusion of the event, judges will recommend students & their projects to represent our region at the State Inventors Congress to be held in Redwood Falls June 8-10, 2007. This event is a non-competitive gathering of student & adult inventors from around the state that are in various stages of their inventing careers. South Central Service Cooperative cordially invites community members, parents, teachers & friends to please attend the Regional MSIC event at Madison East Mall on Saturday, April 28, 2007. Judging and public viewing of projects will run from 10:00 a.m. 12:30 p.m., with an awards program to follow at 1:00 p.m. For more information on how you can get involved in MSIC, including judging at the regional fair, please contact Melanie Schmidt, Regional Facilitator at 507-317-5386.
