“Meeting the Challenge”—Seventh Annual Region 9
Special Education Paraprofessional Training Day

The Seventh Annual Region 9 Special Education Paraprofessional Training Day “Meeting the Challenge” will be held on Monday, August 28, 2006, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Midwest Wireless Civic Center, Mankato.
Back by popular demand, Jodi Pfarr, from the aha! Process, Inc. will kick off the conference with a presentation on “Bridges Out of Poverty: Strategies for Professionals and Communities.”

After lunch, individuals will attend one of three breakout sessions available. Sessions offered include:

  • Positive Behavior Strategies—Erin Toninato
  • Hidden Rules, Language, Story and Cognition, Family Structure, and Program Design—Jodi Pfarr
  • Stress Management – “Your Own Bag of Tricks” – Lisa Clemensen, Ph.D.

This day is an opportunity to reconnect with co-workers and is a fantastic way to begin a new school year. Lunch is provided and at the close of the day individuals will meet their special education directors from their school districts. Are you ready to meet the challenge of the new year?
