STUDENT INVENTORS CONGRESS

Student Inventors Display Imagination and Ingenuity at Madison East Center

Thirty-six area students representing 25 projects comprised the 2006 Minnesota Student Inventors Congress held at the Madison East Center on Saturday, April 29, 2006. Participating youth in grades 3–6 from Lake Crystal, Gaylord, Arlington, and Le Sueur displayed original inventions to remedy a particular problem the student identified. The following projects were selected by a panel of 8 judges to represent our region at the State Inventors Congress held in Redwood Falls June 9, 10 & 11.

1. Kyle Goetsch & Tanner Walsh – “Removable Fence” – Sibley East (Gaylord, MN)
2. Hannah Hendrycks – “Wheeli Mirror” – Sibley East (Gaylord, MN)
3. Victoria Tanley – “Multiple Dog Walker” – Lake Crystal Wellcome Memorial Schools
4. Ellen Eide – “Breakfast Buddy” – Park Elementary School (Le Sueur, MN)
5. Kelly Braun – “Hassenfutter” – Park Elementary School (Le Sueur, MN)

Additionally, the inventors got a chance to be the judges in the “Kids’ Choice” division of the competition. Each student inventor cast their ballot for what they believed to be the best inventions. Winners of the “Kids’ Choice” award will also advance to the State Inventors Congress in Redwood Falls.

Kids’ Choice Winners

2. Madison Pierson & McKenzie Tibbetts – “Dog Clothes That Blink” – Lake Crystal Wellcome Memorial Schools
