The Votes are In! – 2006 Gathering of Champions Logo Selected

The SCSC Board approved the Long Term Disability renewal for twenty-five School Districts at its May 3rd meeting. An RFP had been released for these districts LTD Plans on March 10, 2006.

Six carriers declined to quote because they would not be competitive. Four carriers responded under the umbrella of National Insurance Services, our present LTD provider. The carrier responses were very positive even though some districts loss ratios were relatively high. After receiving no increases for the past several years, the average increase is now 4.5%. Approximately half of the districts received a zero increase, and the other half received a 10% increase. These rates are guaranteed flat for up to five years. We appreciate the thorough and competitive approach National Insurance Services brought to this process and look forward to our continuing working relationship.
