New Math Masters Competition In Belle Plaine Attracts a Crowd!

One-hundred and forty-five fifth grade students from 11 schools competed May 2 at the regional Math Masters event held at Oak Crest Elementary in Belle Plaine. Students competed as teams and as individuals in the competition that featured a fact drill, four individual rounds, and three team rounds of mathematical concepts. Participating districts and schools included: Pine Island, Glendale, Oak Crest, Hilltop, Westwood, Southland, Minneapolis Jewish Day School, Montgomery-Lonsdale, Park Elementary, Grainwood, and Jordan.

A special note of thanks to Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Minnesota for our awards; McDonalds and Rademacher’s’ of Jordan, and Emma Krumbee’s in Belle Plaine for our food and drink; and our host, Oak Crest Elementary School in Belle Plaine for their hospitality!
