2007 Gathering Of Champions to Recognize Student Academic All-Stars

Academic All-Star nominations for the 2007 Gathering of Champions are underway! Schools are currently recognizing students as Academic All-Stars and sending their recommendations for students to attend this day of fun and celebration. Over 2,500 nominations have already been received.

This year’s Gathering of Champions will take place August 3 at The Park at MOA Ballroom (formerly Camp Snoopy) at the Mall of America. This state-wide event was created in 1990 to celebrate the accomplishments of K–12 students selected as Academic All-Stars by their school or academic challenge providers.

This day-long celebration will honor Minnesota’s Academic All-Stars during a series of recognition ceremonies throughout the day, each of which lasts about 40 minutes. During the program, students will enjoy entertainment, answer trivia questions to win prizes and receive a Certificate of Achievement presented by VIPs from across the state. The first program begins at 9 a.m. and the final program concludes at 7 p.m. Academic All-Stars will also be given a discount certificate for rides at The Park at MOA and discount coupons for purchases at other participating mall merchants.

Academic All-Stars, along with their family, guests, and school officials are invited to attend and participate in the Gathering of Champions—make sure to pre-register early for best results—many recognition ceremonies fill quickly.
