STOCK MARKET GAME

Stock Market Game Advisory Meeting Scheduled

A teacher workshop is scheduled for 9:00 a.m. on November 17, 2006 at SCSC in North Mankato—the registration deadline for the workshop is November 15th. Advisors will meet to receive information about The Stock Market Game. This game teaches teams of students about the world of finance and the stock market as they invest a hypothetical $100,000 in common stocks listed on the American and New York Stock Exchange and the NASDAQ System. Over a 13/14 week period, they buy, sell, and receive transaction portfolios. Awards are presented to the teams with the top investment portfolios at the end of the game.

The Stock Market Game recently received a special grant from the Foundation for Investor Education, Securities Industry Association and is offering a special session to schools “at no cost.” This session will run October 9–December 15 for students in grades 4–8 and 9–12. Information on this “one time only opportunity” was forwarded to our participating schools.
