Morris Honored at Tri-State Peer-to-Peer Youth Forum

Glenn Morris was one of eight individuals honored by the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) for their ability to develop effective, youth-focused programs. Minnesota, Iowa and Wisconsin combined to sponsor the Tri-State Peer-to-Peer Youth Forum themed, “Mentoring, Money, Careers, Sharing Ideas” for youth practitioners in their states this past August in Rochester, where these awards were presented.

According to the state department, honorees were nominated by their peers in an effort to recognize outstanding volunteers who donate time and expertise to support youth initiatives emphasizing local collaboration, and to acknowledge their dedication to youth services in Minnesota.

Glenn is the chair of the South Central Youth Council, and has been an active member of the Council and preceding regional school-to-work board for more than 10 years. Glenn is a 20 year employee of the South Central Service Cooperative, where he works to develop collaborations to advance youth initiatives in South Central Minnesota, with special focus on the area of career and technical education. He has been an advocate for bringing life-skills curriculum to the area schools through the use of technology in the classroom.
