2005-06 Knowledge Bowl Season Kicks Off

The Junior High Knowledge Bowl season will begin with our annual coaches’ meeting from 12:30–3:00 pm on September 20 at the Northport Building in North Mankato. There is no cost however; coaches should register through the Service Cooperative website www.mnscsc.org. Click on Knowledge Bowl and then the events button. Junior High Knowledge Bowl meets will begin in early October and run through December.

The Senior High Knowledge Bowl coaches’ meeting will be held from 12:30–3:00 pm on September 20 at the Northport Building in North Mankato and coaches should register through the Service Cooperative website www.mnscsc.org. Click on Knowledge Bowl and then the events button. Senior High Knowledge Bowl meets will begin in January 2006 and culminate with the State meet scheduled for April 25-26, 2006.

We will discuss the format of competition for the season, the season itself, computer scoring, team structure and strategies, review of how to run an invitational; question sets, the invitational structure for 2005–06 and changes at the state level. Please bring your school calendar, your projected number of teams, ideas for invitationals and new question sources. Specific coaching strategies will be discussed (to the extent that people are willing to share).
