CAREER AND TECHNICAL EDUCATION

Licensure

Bemidji State University offers a new website for teachers and administrators who are involved with licensing of CTE teachers at the secondary and port-secondary levels in MN. The site includes information on licensing and degree requirements, Teacher Education Series (TES) courses, Work-Base Learning (WBL) courses, upcoming course schedules, registration information, and more! There are also links to other useful related sites.

The MN Dept. of Education Memo (July 8, 2004) on Special Education and Transition-Disabled Reporting on EDRS for 2004–2005; Variances, Waivers, Non-licensed Community Experts

The MN Board of Teaching Memo (June 8, 2004) on "Licensure and Other Permissions for Teaching during the 2004-05 SY" provides further assistance for teacher staffing assignments for 2004-2005.

The commissioner's press release (March 2004, Acrobat PDF) on "High-Quality Teachers" has significant impact for CTE teachers who are or wish to deliver in an academic area as defined by NCLB.
