The Minnesota Department of Education awarded $298,000 in technology grant monies to Central Minnesota Research and Development Council (cmERDC) and twenty K-12 schools partners. South Central Service Cooperative has partnered with cmERDC to offer a suite of data warehouse products to our member school districts to train staff to effectively use data driven decision-making applications.
The Enhancing Education Through Technology (E2T2) grant will provide ongoing professional development for administrators, technology coordinators, and classroom teachers to:
-
Support changes in school culture regarding the use of assessment data to drive policy, programmatic, and instructional decisions
-
Assist school staff in preparing local data to use with a data driven decision-making (DDDM) system
-
Support the implementation of strategies resulting from the analysis and interpretation of data
-
Provide formative and summative evaluations of the project and subsequent application of project activities to the entire SOCRATES region which serves twenty-six school districts and nine cooperatives
Forward-thinking schools across the country are employing data driven decision-making to:
-
Narrow the achievement gap
-
Improve teacher instruction and student learning
-
Share best practice amongst schools and districts
-
Effectively communicate important educational issues to stakeholders
-
Encourage parental involvement
-
Promote dialogue within the educational community
